Error: “Business Validation Error: ‘Product’ Can’t Be Processed Since It’s Attached to a Large Number of Transactions”
Overview:
This error occurs when QuickBooks Bridge tries to sync a Shopify order, but QuickBooks Online blocks the product because it has been used in too many past transactions. This is a known limitation within QuickBooks. Even if you try to manually create an invoice or sales receipt for the same item, QuickBooks will show the exact same error.
Fortunately, there is a simple workaround that helps resolve the order syncing issue.
Detailed Information:
How to fix
-
Rename the existing product inside QuickBooks Online
-
Choose a temporary name, such as adding “– Old” at the end.
-
This frees up the original product name.
-
Create a new product in QuickBooks using the same name and SKU as the Shopify product (Please make sure that the newly created product is set up in QuickBooks as per the matching criteria selected on our app)
-
The new product will act as a fresh item with no historical transaction history in QuickBooks.
-
Inform our support team once this is done
-
We will remap the Shopify product to the new QuickBooks item.
-
After remapping, we will retry syncing the affected order.
This method resolves the QuickBooks limitation by giving the system a clean product record that can be updated without errors.
