How Does Class Mapping Work Between Shopify and QuickBooks Online?
Overview:
QuickBooks Bridge by Parex supports Class Mapping to help categorize Shopify sales in QuickBooks Online. Orders can be mapped to classes based on a unique field such as sales channel, source, or location—giving you clearer reporting and insights.
Detailed Information:
✅ Step 1: Enable & Select Class Tracking in QuickBooks Online
Enable class tracking in QuickBooks Online and select one of the two options:
-
One to entire transaction – Applies a single class to the whole order.
-
One to each row in transaction – Applies classes to individual product line items.
Choose the option that fits your reporting needs.
✅ Step 2: Provide Order Examples & Mapping Logic
After enabling class tracking, share a few Shopify order numbers and the QuickBooks class names to map them to.
Mapping can be based on fields like:
-
Sales Channel (e.g., Online Store → Online Class)
-
Location (e.g., Warehouse A → North Region Class)
-
Source (e.g., Facebook → FB Class)
We will review these orders to confirm that a uniquely identifiable field exists. Once verified, we will configure the feature in your store.
How Classes Appear in QuickBooks
-
One to entire transaction: The class applies to the whole order.
-
One to each row in transaction: The class applies at the product line level.
If you choose line-level tracking, you can map by:
-
Product Type, or

Order fields such as channel, location, or source.
