How does split payments sync to Quickbooks?

  • Shashank Pandey

We have a feature that we can set up to handle the split payment orders sync. For example, if an order is partly paid by cash and part by credit. By default, in such a case entire payment is synced to just one Quickbooks account i.e. based on the primary gateway information provided by Shopify in the order data and the account mapped with that particular primary gateway on our app settings page. However, if we set up the feature to handle the split payment orders, then based on the above example once the payment gets synced to Quickbooks, let's say for example in the cash account, then our app will create a journal entry in Quickbooks for this order that will transfer the funds from cash account to the credit account. This way the payments will get recorded into the correct Quickbooks accounts.
