Customer sync / Customer mapping - Xero Bridge app

This article explains in which cases a new customer is created and mapped in Xero.

Display name (Contact name) is a unique field in Xero so by default, our app matches the Customer name from Shopify to Display name field in Xero.

1. If the first name and last name of the customer in Shopify match exactly with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the customer will be mapped.

2. If the first name and last name of the customer in Shopify do not match with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the new customer will be created in Xero.

Customer information sync:

  • When a new customer is created in Xero by our app, it will be synced to Xero with all the customer information from Shopify.
  • When the customer name is matched, our app will just map the customer and all the information will not be synced from Shopify to Xero. In this case, it will use the customer information from Xero.
