How sales account code is assigned to the products synced to Xero

  • Chirag Patil

By default, our app syncs the products that are part of an order. When "Inventory Sync" or "Product sync as Non-Inventory" feature is subscribed, newly created products in Shopify also sync to Xero.

On the basis of product matching criteria selected on 2nd tab of our app settings, below are the two cases how the products are assigned the sales code in Xero.

If you have selected SKU matching criteria in our app settings,

1. While syncing the product from Shopify to Xero, if the product with a matching SKU exists in Xero then our app will map that product and will use the sales account code entered in Xero for that product.

This product and its orders will be coded in the sales account entered in Xero for that product.

2. While syncing the product from Shopify to Xero, if the product with a matching SKU does not exist in Xero, then our app creates a new product in Xero and uses the sales account code you have selected on the 2nd tab of our app settings.

This new product and its orders will be coded in the sales account selected on the 2nd tab of our app settings.

In both of the above cases, while syncing products to Xero, our app saves the mapping so the mapping with the sales account code is saved.
