Feature to sync the products and its orders to the sales account updated in Xero - Xero Bridge app

  • Chirag Patil

This feature syncs the products and their orders to the sales account updated later in Xero after the product is synced.

By default, our app syncs the products that are part of an order. When "Inventory Sync" or "Product sync as Non-Inventory" feature is subscribed, newly created products in Shopify also sync to Xero.

If you have selected SKU matching criteria in our app settings,

1. While syncing the product from Shopify to Xero, if the product with a matching SKU exists in Xero then our app will map that product and will use the sales account code entered in Xero for that product.

This product and its orders will be coded in the sales account entered in Xero for that product.

While mapping the products in Xero, our app saves the mapping so the mapping with the sales account code in Xero is saved.

If you later update the account code of that product directly in Xero then for the next orders, our app will still sync that product and its orders to the sales account you had entered previously in Xero because mapping is saved. With this feature set, it will sync this product and its orders to the account code updated later in Xero.

For example, you have a product already created in Xero with SKU "ABC123" with sales account "200" selected. Later you created the product in Shopify with same SKU "ABC123" so the product is mapped and mapping is saved with sales account "200". Later, the account code of this product is updated directly in Xero from "200" to "201". By default, our app will sync this product and its orders to account with code "200" but with this feature set, this product and its orders will be synced to the account code "201".

2. While syncing the product from Shopify to Xero, if the product with a matching SKU does not exist in Xero, then our app creates a new product in Xero and it uses the sales account code you have selected on the 2nd tab of our app settings.

This new product and its orders will be coded in that sales account selected on the 2nd tab of our app settings.

While syncing products in Xero, our app saves the mapping so the mapping with the sales account code is saved.

If you later update the account code of that product directly in Xero then for the next orders, our app will still sync that product and its orders to the sales account you have selected on the 2nd tab of our app settings because mapping is saved. With this feature set, it will sync this product and its orders to the account code updated in Xero.

For example, you have selected account with code "200" on the 2nd tab of our settings and then a product is synced from Shopify to Xero. This product will be coded to the account with code "200" in Xero. Later, the account code of this product is updated directly in Xero from "200" to "201". By default, our app will sync this product and its orders to account with code "200" but with this feature set, this product and its orders will be synced to the account code "201".

In both of the above cases, if you need the product and its sales to sync in the sales account updated later in Xero then this feature can be set.
