Settings for customer creation/mapping - Xero Bridge app

This article explains how customers are created/mapped by Xero Bridge app with different options available in app settings.

On the 1st tab of our app settings, there are different options available to create/map the customers in Xero when ‘Unique Customer Every Order’ option is selected.

Settings for customer creation and mapping in Xero Bridge app

Contact name is the only unique field in Xero so our app matches the customer against that display name field so uniqueness can be maintained.

  • Customers will be created based on their first name and last name.

With this option, our app will match customer's First name and Last name from Shopify to Contact name in Xero.

i. If the first name and last name of the customer in Shopify matches exactly with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the customer will be mapped.

ii. If the first name and last name of the customer in Shopify does not match with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the new customer will be created in Xero with first name and last name available in Shopify.

  • Xero contact name will be matched with Shopify order's Shipping Address Company Name.

With this option, our app will match the company name from shipping address of Shopify to the Contact name field in Xero.

i. If the company name from the shipping address in Shopify matches exactly with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the customer will be mapped.

ii. If the company name from the shipping address in Shopify does not match with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the new customer will be created in Xero with company name available in shipping address of Shopify.

Note: If company name is not available in shipping address then our app will match the customer on the basis of first name and last name.

If your Shopify plan supports creating B2B company and B2B company location then, you will see 2 additional options in our app settings as highlighted in below image.

Below is the image where you can find B2B Customer Company Name or B2B Customer Company Location Name in the Shopify Order. Click here for more details on creating and assigning the B2B company and location in Shopify.

  • Xero contact name will be matched with Shopify order's B2B Customer Company Name.

With this option, our app will match the B2B company name from Shopify order with the contact name field in Xero.

i. If the B2B company name from Shopify order matches exactly with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the customer will be mapped.

ii. If the B2B company name from Shopify order does not match with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the new customer will be created in Xero with B2B company name available in Shopify.

  • Xero contact name will be matched with Shopify order's B2B Customer Company Location Name.

With this option, our app will match the B2B Customer Company Location from Shopify order with the contact name field in Xero.

i. If the B2B Customer Company Location from Shopify order matches exactly with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the customer will be mapped.

ii. If the B2B Customer Company Location from Shopify order does not match with the 'Contact Name' field in Xero then the customer will be created in Xero with B2B company location available in Shopify.
