Payment Sync Automation by QuickBooks Bridge
Overview:
Our app seamlessly automates the process of syncing Shopify payments to the correct QuickBooks account, ensuring accurate reconciliation and streamlined financial tracking.
Detailed Information:
1. Sync Trigger: Paid Shopify Orders
The payment sync process is initiated only when a Shopify order is marked as "Paid". At that point, our app detects the change and prepares to sync the corresponding payment to QuickBooks.
2. Determining the Appropriate QuickBooks Account
Once a payment is ready to sync, the app determines which QuickBooks account it should be recorded under. This decision is based on two key factors:
-
The payment method used for the Shopify order (e.g., Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna, etc.)
-
The QuickBooks account mapping set up by the user in the app's Settings.
Each payment method can be mapped to a specific account in QuickBooks.
3. Dynamic Mapping for New Payment Methods
If your Shopify store starts receiving payments via new or previously unused payment methods, the app will automatically detect them after the first order using that method is synced.
At that point:
-
The new payment method will appear in the app’s settings.
You can then assign a QuickBooks account to that method to ensure proper categorization going forward. Changes related to payment method and QuickBooks account mapping will apply to the orders going forward.
